It’s a new year and soon events, Kenya construction expositions and exhibitions will begin dotting the calendars. The real estate in Kenya is known for hosting some of the largest building and construction events in the region. The frequency of the events varies from one organizer to another – some are annual and others are bi-annual.

Venues for the building and construction expos and exhibitions are largely situated within the Nairobi CBD. Recently, some organizers spread out their events to Mombasa. Most probably, county governments might be compelled to organize such events in order to woo developers and investors in their regions. However, KICC and Sarit Centre are the most preferred venues for the event organizers.

In the first quarter of 2014, the following events will be held in Nairobi. The Property and Homes Expo will be organized by Primedia Limited. The event will be held between 20th and 23rd February 2014. It will be hosted at Sarit Centre Exhibition Hall.

Interior Design Expo

The annual 5th Ideal Interiors Expo will be held at the Village Market between 5th and 9th March 2014. The organizers are Real Wealth Limited. It will provide an opportunity for visitors to explore interior design solutions and interact with interior services providers. According to the organizers, the visitors will be inspired by the creative array of finishes, furnishings and furniture.

In the 2nd quarter of 2014 will witness an influx of events. The Kenya Homes Magazine will hold their first edition of Kenya Homes Expo 2014. It will be the 19th edition since its launch in 2005. The event is scheduled to take place between 10th and 13th April 2014. The main sponsor of the event has been the East African Portland Cement Company’s Blue Triangle cement flagship.

Inaugural Solar Solutions Expo

The first ever Solar Africa Expo will be held between 27th and 29th April 2014 at the KICC. It is organized by ExpoGroup, a company that has been hosting a number of events in the East African region since 1996. It will provide an opportunity to entities interested in renewable energy solutions, especially solar. This is in light of the regulations by the Energy Regulation Commission regarding photovoltaic solutions.

ExpoGroup will hold two expos between 2nd and 4th May 2014. The 17th Edition of BuildExpo will be held at the KICC. Manufacturers and suppliers of different construction materials and machinery will be drawn from 35 countries. The LightExpo event will also run parallel to this. Visitors will be exposed to different lighting solutions and fixtures. It is important to note that the events held by ExpoGroup will mostly benefit businesses and individuals seeking opportunities as distributors and suppliers.

At the Sarit Centre the Homes and Gardens Expo will be organized by the Sarit Exhibitions and Promotions Limited.

The East African Housing Expo will be organized by the Phoenix Media at the Sarit Centre. It has been scheduled to take place between 4th and 7th September 2014. It was first held in September 2011 at the same venue.
